Race
Race…
It’s a race to the finish where there is no winner.
Race…
Why we racing to the finish when there is no winner?
Does it separate?
Does it divide?
Is it a figment of our own mind?
Race…
There is no finish and there is no winner.
You see…
We are all flesh and blood, and God is an ever evolving artist who didn’t want to color with just…one…crayon.
He wanted to use the whole damn box!
So He drew lines and shapes and figures as He giggled...all different all beautiful.
And He used every crayon in His arsenal
Because all beige would be boring.
Now don’t get me wrong.
Beige is beautiful.
But all beige...
Boring.
And He used every crayon in His arsenal
Because all brown would be boring.
Don’t get me wrong.
Brown is beautiful.
But all brown...
Boring.
And He used every crayon in His arsenal
Because all yellow would be boring.
Don’t get me wrong.
Yellow
Is
Beautiful
But all yellow...
Boring.
You get my multicolored drift?
Yes, He used every single crayon and He drew to His heart’s content, until the points of wax became nubs.
And then…He presented us to us.
His gift was HUMANITY… and He put hearts in our chests and brains in our heads.
And what do we do with His creations?
We judge.
We separate.
We compartmentalize to ease our own minds.
Race…
There is no finish line, there is no winner, and there is no trophy.
There is no winner when we compete on the street.
We bait, we hate, we take what was once great… and we separate.
Race…
We jockey to the finish but there is no winner.
How do we win?
We see His art for what it is.
Majestic.
Eccentric.
Eclectic.
Poetic.
Don’t be an art critic.
Be an art lover!
Love the art that is humanity!
Love that we are midnight, dark and glowing.
Love that we are cocoa, rich and luscious.
Love that we are peach skinned, soft and fuzzy.
Love that we are golden, we are olive, we are burnt umber with freckles littered upon our skin.
We are also lovely, loud, funny, brash, bashful, hungry, broken and triumphant!
Race to EMPATHY and we all win.
Race to INCLUSION and we all win.
Race to EQUALITY and we all win.
Race to LOVE and…
WE.
ALL.
WIN.
